I like the two-column approach with the slit above best. It makes for the most readable words, too. The three-column versions are really hard to read, since they go against the very nature of /I.1 -

When I started my type-design efforts, I wanted to make a book face as well, but had to realize I was not ready. A book face has higher demands to evenness of color, style, rhythm than a display face…2 -

The middle one work best in my opinion. The softening is out of character and introduces an element of self-doubt in that bottom half.1 -

Those matching /C/K are pretty difficult to read, especially the /C (what was I thinking?). Could still be of interest if someone wanted to set a word out of vertically symmetric letters only for som…1 -

You should probably decide whether you want rounded serifs or sharp cuts and stick with the decision.3
